Is it just me or does this Agent Pace character rub you the wrong way?  (Keep it clean, people)

I mean, 'she' seems to dilute the magic that makes Agents,
Agents.  The aloofness and the logic that were Agent/Machine
trademarks are tossed aside  This new 'interface' has made my skin
crawl the way no other piece of tech has since Microsoft's Office
Assistant came out...

After reading the recent message to RedPills everywhere, the whole "
Ciao Riossopillolos..." affectation sounds a little too Merovingian for my liking.

Mero has French. (Fraaaaaanch)

Machines have Italian.

Will Zion have German?  Or Southern Drawl?

"Y'all goan be sorry y'all came barkin' roun' ZION's porch, I'll tell you what...."

heh.

Just to clarify, I have Machinist tendencies.

Ask my Faction-mates.

I have been trying to get them to be Machinist since Beta. SMILEY

It's just that the mystique that made the Agents special (no pun) is gone with Agent Pace.

Ich höre keine mehr Unterstellungen über die Zion Leute! Sehnen sich Phasenzion, sehnen sich Phasenneo! Tod zu den Maschinen!

Sersouly though, seeing as this is the continuation of the matrix, it does make sence. The machines, now with their truce with Zion, would want to put a nice face on their diplomat to humanity. As for why they choose italian, who knows.

A friendly Agent... what has the world come to.

Actually I think Agent Pace is something very interesting in terms of
the Machine Matrix. The machines are taking new steps to interact with
their human operatives, something that the original Agents were not
quite suited for.

As with the Merovingian the Italian language could just be a qwirk of
Pace's programming. However, I am looking for someone who can actually
speak/write Italian to unleash on Agent Pace. :smileyvery-happy:

Well the little I know about the Machine Org, all memebers were asked
what they wanted to see in the new agent replacing Skinner.

First and foremost was that the agent be female (I wonder why?)

Other details seem to suggest that a more human agent was wanted.

So we end up with the Pace we have today.

Being as Pace is also an italian last name I suppose it'd make a little sense for her to speak Italian, but my guess is much like The Frenchman given her job(Human Relations) Pace sampled a variety of human languages and decided she liked Italian.
.

I reckon in italy all agents spoke italian!  Like...in the italian version of the movies, yup, thats what I spose.

Merovingian: "I love the French language. I have sampled every
language, French is my favourite.... fantastic language, especially to
curse with... it's like wiping your arse with silk"

so maybe Pace liked it because she likes wiping her arse with... ummm... stuff...?

Might it be that Italy was part of the Axis countries in WW2... yet are now our allies against new threats to the stability of the world?

(yes, we have German and Japanese options, but Italian is less "sensitive" and more subtle compared to the others)

Il passo di agente è l'agente più caldo vivo e lei dovrebbe congiungere la società di difetto di funzionamento

hmmm i think Agent Pace is just fine the way she is.
#10400039495 11/07/2005 11:45:11 Re: re: Agent Pace
Interesting points, all.

The crux of the matter with me is that Agent Pace humanizes that which
should not be humanized.  It borders on condescending.  I
think I would respond better to contempt than coddling... SMILEY

#10400039496 11/07/2005 11:47:19 Re: re: Agent Pace
Well there was a machinist meeting in which the agents asked what YOU *points Uncle Sam Style* Wanted in an agent.

Agent Pace (that is Pa-Say) is what you asked for.

Anyone else remember the "human" qualitys Agent Smith had?

Yes, but he had human qualities of hatred.
#10400039513 11/07/2005 12:54:57 Re: re: Agent Pace
Yes but any human emotion is unpredictable and can lead to others. Random segments of code could also appear leading to another Agent Smith accident.

Watch.

We will find out that Pace is an empowered exile, like the Frenchman, that has semi-autonomy.

The Machines found out how formidable the Frenchman was and so, want to
leverage that power.  They create a program that works for them
but I still think the whole Agent pool is diluted by Pace's addition.

Still, I am very intrigued to see where the storyline goes with Pace.

**bleep** you Roukan.

The thereapy to get me forget about Smurfs was working.  It was WORKING!

Why was there only one female?  WHY WHY????

Wow.  D@mN got bleeped out of my message.  <pencils down a note-to-self>

I think I would feel better about Agent Pace if it turns out to be some
sort of plot against the machines.  Some kind of infiltration or
ploy that someone was behind.  Why is everyone always picking on
the poor machines? heh.
