Ive tried with 3 different masks and they dont work. I get the animation of putting on a disguise but the disguise never comes on.

Im just patching ill give it a try too, does the ablity also need to be loaded maybe?
Shouldn't need to be... Walrus said anyone can do this, including non-spys...
Also, how are you able to get anything yet? According to the server down, the big clam man said 2 hours... u should still have a half hour to go...
So my suggestion... wait a bit... I'm sure when everything is done, the masks will work!
no at first they werent working. but i just tried again and it worked..maybe something was stopping it the first moments after i logged in..
They dont work if you have a bandana on. Atleast not mine.

right click in inventory and select activate 
first one for me was female blooddrinker
They're easy to get then, I take it.
I just got Gargoyle mask so yes they are easy..only 3 npcs 3 lvls below you spawn. And for the record if I have or put on a Bandana the Mask wont work.
I was standing right next to a pumpkin when it was activated, people farther away than me got spawns, and I didn't get any. Just like the last event. So it doesn't suprise me that the masks don't even work with certain items equiped. After the delay, I am less than impressed. Meh, gonna do something else for a while like oh... work =(
Everything is running AOK for me. When the spawns activate they do not spawn right next to you. Maybe that is what happened. All my spawns were 3 lvl below me. Maybe there were more spawns for me but I didn't get to kill them since there were many people gathered around.
If that were the case, a box (safe) would have spawned for me as well as the others. It didn't. And every single Lupine in the area was killed. Ah well this is what I have come to expect from this game now.

Take em all off, wear normal clothes and they work.

Pretty risky if your on Vector.
Yes You can be attacked and fight with them on and after experimenting I was able to Get it on with a Bandana, Just had to Put on a Lupine then switch to Gargoyle.
