How can LESIG help regarding event times? As Walrus said, it doesn't mean we can play movie characters, and that is pretty apparant, but what is needed, REALLY needed at a time like this, is a euro server (or a general non US server) for us which in turn will mean new Live Actors are needed.

And so we return to the original problem? That, at the moment, seems impossible, so all EU and non US players seem to be waiting with baited breath for LESIG and what it will entail with regards to us. But I ask, won't event times still be geared towards US players? If that's the case, what can LESIG really do to alleviate our frustration?

Respond please soon Walrus, or anyone for that matter, who can shed some light on the situation...

the last event my only problem was the days...... why o why did u put a climax on a sunday, when us non US ppl have work/ school in less than 8 hours? wouldnt it have made more sense to put it on a saturday?

i take it you didnt play on sunday night then because it was all over on vector before 1am bst. personally i usually go to sleep about 1:30 so i was fine for work on the monday 8am start.

edit

if you cant make the strech to that ,syntax had there event about 9pm purhapse you should make a char there.

I did play sunday night and I was able to stay jacked in until 11pm, after that I was forced off.

By which time Syntax and recursion had already finished. I understand SOME can stay up late, and I could if I would, but it isn't possible for me and for many others.

Oh most definitely, there's no doubting that...but it still leaves some to be desired. I know there's not much they can do thats why I ask.

well you jsut have to face it pblade this is an american run game for an american audiance. what they could do is run it on vector first but then youd upset everyone on syntax in uk/europe so its a lose lose sitatuion for all . only fair thing to do is rotate the timings each month rather than show prefrance to 1 server over another.

If it was possible i would be LET for free. Euro live event wise
I think the LESIG needs a U.S. and Euro section. Not to be
segregated, but to make an even playing field for everyone involved
with the game and with the LESIG.

With potentially a limitless resource pool, as far as the player community being involved in Live Events, time zones should be irrelevant, the concept should be a 24/7 constant (*).

It simply isnt enough to add the player base support into the current Live Event schedule, because it has a limited audience, and more over, huge time gaps between events, leaves the community wondering why they pay per month when it comes down to a matter of hours per month that live events actually occur.

LESIG should be a grand scheme, to implement anything else, just to have it implemented, is nothing more than a stalling tactic.

Considering the amount of time this iron has been in the fire, LESIG should be the best thing since sliced bread, and rather than 6 months from now, we should see it rolled out in weeks.

((*) For those that are worried they may miss parts of the story, or not be involved in key story elements/events, central to the 24/7 model should be that no crew/individual can possibly do it all. Consider redundancy of crews and downtime in the source material or even in our very lives, people need sleep. This makes a function such as DN1 and a tool like The Sentinel even more important, in terms of keeping the community up to date, and daily MOTD's from NPC faction commanders would be something personal that would give every redpill jacking in up to the minute situation reports. Considering the scale of the game, and the complexity of the source material, really MXO is Lite in its current incarnation, rollout MXO v2.0)

I do have to agree with the statement they haveblatently shrugged off the fact they have a playing audience outside the US. I mean like I always say on these thing SOE are not like monolith as monolith tryed to accomodate for us in europe but I mean even the prices when we went through the trasition SOE could not be arsed to convert the price for us. it was in dollas and you Fing like it! lol.

seriously they need to either yes put events on at a decent time I vote saturday at 11:00 GMT thats 6:00 us time roughly. I dunno. but thats like end of work time and who dose stuff on a sunday. I mean yeah I would be working but I think I could stay up till 1:00 or 2:00on a sat. I dunno personaly speaking that seems likea better time but then I bet thats in the middle of the nght for the ausies. so I dont know perhaps giving people the chance to be a LE character if they are reliable. in gameand are happy to do it.

I bet people would be more than happy to runby a script for free just to help out.

Many say that this is an American game run by and for US players. While this is true in the games current state, it was sold in many other countries as well, so should these places not also have a fair bit of voice?

I know it's difficult, especially since the SOE transition, but there must be an easier solution other than 2 am for live events for EU players....I just can't think of it :smileyindifferent:

Even the likes of bringing back EU servers would pose problems. How many of you would want to leave your faction and move to a new server, knowing nobody and basically having to start from scratch?

i think that the LETSIG will be able to bring the storyline to the EU players during their times of normal operation.
Granted, they won't be playing any major characters but with them in our corner stuff will be taking place for everyone at all times. I've been thinking that they can have us miss out on a few things too to even it out a little bit...make us all communicate on what goes down at different time even when the US players can't be on.

But I do think think apart from good ideas helping the devs initialize some stuff for you guys, that LETSIG will play a part in returning interactions to a better level...not with main characters but with suitable storline content...just something to keep us busy with, like numbered agents for example.

and it is possible to transfer your character from one server to another....before the transition we were giving the option of moving our character with everything it has and keeping the same amount of exp and info so it is possible for them to move us europe players but it may be too quiet for those of us who can only play at our nighttime........

so i was supprised to see when i logged on sunday looking for the liveevent that it had finished as its usually around 11pm Uk time but it was at 6pm Uk time sunday.........

so really we dont need the times to be changed..

That's a very fair point shauntley, on recursion and Syntax it was all over before 11pm BST, but on Vector, which incidentally is one of the servers that was formed from a euro server, it was all over just before 1am BST (the morning of the 3rd october) and this probably is to do with a lack of LET, but as has been stated, why not stagger the 5 assassins (as 5 seems to be how many LET there, or 6, if Niobe is counted) over the 3 servers...

I guess i'm just confused...

A related question I'd like to see answered is:

In the latest event feedback thread, and other event threads, people
are basically saying 'we need LESIG now' as, more or less, the last
thought in
their post after complaining about the lag and crashes.

Maybe I'm a moron, but how the hell is the LESIG going to fix server issues?

I will admit that I don't know everything the LESIG is supposed to do,
but I mostly thought that they would be a consultary group, asked
questions about events and giving some ideas.

In some posts, I've gotten the impression that they will sometimes be allowed to log in as event characters.

Which would mean more opportunity for players to be involved with the event, like the 'good 'ol days' of pre-SOE..

How will that help lag and crashes?

Many people will be chasing after those characters too, for whatever
reason based on the event, just to get a screenshot or because that's
part of the event.

If the system can't handle it now, altering the times that the characters are logged in does nothing to change that.

It would be nice if the LESIG was implemented, and hopefully some good
changes can come of it and bring about more interesting events, but I
don't think it's the Holy Grail fix for the game that some apparently
do.

Maybe it is and I just don't know it.

If so, someone please enlighten me.
