Well I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it plenty of times again:
DON'T GIVE LOOT AS AN EVENT REWARD IF ONLY A HANDFUL OF PEOPLE GET IT. ALL GET IT OR NONE GET IT.
Don't understand why Sony is doing this, when Monolith avoided this whole problem from day 1. If you give loot as a reward to only .0001% of the active people in the event/server, then you are creating a situation ripe for everyone being annoyed and angry, creating huge piles of egotism, leet-ness and overall stupidity abound.
Why is it that everything you do SOE is based around creating nothing but havok, mayhem, and general negativity in the community? If you want to have leet items in the game, it should be based off skill and intelligence not grinding and luck. But at no point should an event hold a unique item as a reward. There are other carrots you can dangle that are sooooooo much more effective and don't **bleep** everyone off in the end.
Private meeting with a LET character? A preview of some inside org information? A meeting with the Oracle? Your name in the Sentinel?
Look SOE, I know you reaaally want to set yourselfs apart, but recreating problems that were already solved by Monolith/WB do nothing to help, and only hinder. Learn from what Monolith did right (yes they did do quite a bit right with this game from a design point of view), and fix what they did wrong, but please, don't fix what isn't broken.
