Since the new forums are being internally developed... I had the thought of a possible future solution to the forum handle problem...

What if users could select a handle from a list of their characters' names in the respective games they play?

Just a thought.

If anything interesting is discussed like future game developments and storyline will there be a post about it for those of us who can't make it to San Diego.
#10300003831 07/08/2006 01:54:07 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, July 7, 2006

Thanks for the update Walrus.

I would have liked to see a little more about what is moving forward with Live Events, will we be getting another finale style event? Also 50% of the looking glass is about the other forum room. Had that not happened what else would have been mentioned?

#10300003832 07/08/2006 02:37:01 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, July 7, 2006
Nice job Walrus. Thank you for this.
#10300003833 07/08/2006 02:37:42 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, July 7, 2006

Last we heard it was july 13th...

Well that sucks. Hard.

#10300003834 07/08/2006 03:00:00 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, July 7, 2006
New forums and patch later! Hope the forum titles work, or some ppl will be really disappointed about the new content!!
#10300003835 07/08/2006 03:48:59 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, July 7, 2006
Looks ok. Having an article on the Champange Room is a no brainer.
Surprised that none of the stuff you released on SI Radio made it on
though.

#10300003836 07/08/2006 03:58:02 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, July 7, 2006
Ahem. Last we heard, the update was scheduled for the 13th. Y'know, NEXT week? *sigh*

Good job everyone, making us waste another Looking Glass with our fruitless spam arguments over a stupid secret forum.

#10300003839 07/08/2006 04:39:34 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, July 7, 2006
theX.fm will be on site for the SOE Block Party with a full array of recording gear (photo, video and audio).

Xfm will also be broadcasting live.

Whatever we capture will be posted for the community to view and hear.  While we're awaiting word from Walrus on an official interview, if nothing else, we'll bring you the details of the party.

=)
#10300003840 07/08/2006 05:48:15 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, July 7, 2006
Maybe you could even try and score an interview with Paul Chadwick, if he's there. That'd be awesome.

Hope you guys have fun at the party! Too bad it's on the way other side of the country. SMILEY
#10300003842 07/08/2006 07:14:13 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, July 7, 2006

On a very temperamental side-note:  Party On, Dudes!

All right. I'mma make a request.

There's no way I can get to California for that block party, but I'd like to send my best wishes to the team and to the developers.

Now, that being said, can someone PLEASE talk to Paul about getting LET back. :smileywink:

And I'm being %100 serious. Maybe Paul could convince Chris to get LET back if everyone who shows up says something about it, like how much they miss it, and how people are leaving because of lack of content (another case in point - Espi leaves Syntax a few days ago because of lack of content in game.) Although I don't suggest NOT partying and having a fun time, just something to bring up. This may be a good chance to get something rolling...

Decent article.  Wish I could go to San Diego SMILEY

Sux the update got pushed back a week but it doesnt surprise me since Rarebit just finished the criticals.

And Aquatium..just was wondering what made you wanna hear about some
sort of large event.  They havent said they have plans for any, I
wouldnt count on one anytime soon.  They take up too much time for
very little reward.

#10300003851 07/08/2006 13:12:15 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, July 7, 2006
Looks good to me.
Too bad I won't be able to make it down there.
Work is supreme lameness...

... If you get a chance, say "hi" to Adam from Abbyshot.com. He's the guy who VPs the company that hooks me up with those lovely floorlength black dresses I like to call trenchcoats. SMILEY

Time to start the grind to 100 million. Then again... *Looks at Faction bank.*

Also, at least change cloudwol's forum handle to what it should be, (Punch the keys) for God's sake. It's only one letter! Heh.

No kidding! I certainly understand how one letter can make a world of difference :smileysad:

Oh, and is anyone from the Portland / Seattle area planning to head down to San Diego for the party? 'Cause I'd love to go, but I don't have a car.

Not certain about the interviews yet.. if we can, we will.  (Yes, I have as difficult a time getting Walrus to read my PMs as anyone else. =P)

We're prepared to into extreme 'interview-ninja' mode and run around with hidden wireless mics. :smileytongue:

Personally, I appreciate the words of apology regarding the 'Champagne Room'  Full marks for admitting that the  wrong approach was taken, despite the concept being a sound one.

I look forward to a shiny, new feedback section in the future.

I mea, what kind of Other side of the locking glass is this?
Where are the secrets about upcoming events, or new things in the game?

Wow, there is a hidden forum....... and? Wouldnt there be a new forum, then will the hidden Forum here be history.....
A new Forum..... wow.... new Forum, new bugs -.- Why not keep the old one?

And the best thing I had loughed and cryed about........ I dont say anything about this party..... I will come to this party..... I must only walk over from europe to america to get a wurst from walrus personly -.-
Remember that there are ppl theyre do not live in the usa......
A big Party in the game would be more nicer......

In my eyes is this OSotlG something from SOE to say sry that they do not spend more money in this game and in the persons who done this.......

With that I will say only one thing..... I will be stand here until SOE drops out the power plug from the server!
......... and I can see it comming next time....... -.-

And here is the airport, if you want to fly to San Diego ^^

117°11'10.26"W

And a Webcam in SanDiego SMILEY

No, it wouldn't. So try to be happy for those who can attend. BTW, I'm not one of them SMILEY

I know this is totally off the subject but the google earth satellite pics are WAY older than 1 year old. I know my house has been here nearly 9 years and it doesnt show up.
#10300003880 07/10/2006 13:38:10 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - Friday, July 7, 2006
Aw, piffle. We're still aiming for July 13, depending on testing and some build server issues. If we don't get that all sorted out, we'll push back to July 20. We'd been discussing our options that day and July 20 got stuck in my head. SMILEY

I wouldn't mind waiting for the 20th. We waited over a year for content. Another week isn't going to kill us. much
