Haha, sounds like a great time you had Walrus.

Bringing up this again (since you spoke with Massive) is there any chance of Ad's outside the US? :p

Hmm,  I'm wondering what Dragon9 talked to you about! I wish I could get the chance to ask the juicy questions SMILEY  Glad to see you took notes too.

Great writeup about E3, I was scowering the internets for articles about the game. Hopefully some will surface SMILEY

Also, let us know more about how the trial went!
#10300003117 05/18/2006 10:58:22 Re: The Matrix Online E3 Report - Discussion Thread - May 18, 2006
Cool report, Walrus. I don't suppose you have any pics of the booth, though?
#10300003118 05/18/2006 11:51:26 Re: The Matrix Online E3 Report - Discussion Thread - May 18, 2006

OK you're saying you were at E3 just to sell MXO...

Comon you must have had a play around on the next-gens, so go-on which one is better PS3 or Wii?

Anyway nice report, nice to have you back.

#10300003119 05/18/2006 12:22:18 Re: The Matrix Online E3 Report - Discussion Thread - May 18, 2006
Sounds like it was an enjoyable, if slightly exhausting, experience then Walrus. How many boxes did you take in the first place?

#10300003120 05/18/2006 12:28:58 Re: The Matrix Online E3 Report - Discussion Thread - May 18, 2006
When can we meet the other people involved in the game that helped ya at E3 SMILEY

I hope you brought backup, cuz if I catch you alone... it's a wrap.
Tadow!

The gig was apparently up, as Fallen Horizon figured out that one of the demo characters was “NoElves” and met up with me in the Barrens. We chatted a bit during my brief breaks between visitors, but mostly they stood there dancing on the screen for everyone to see. At one point I turned around to see they had all lined up with my character for screenshots, apparently. When I commented that they were a bunch of jokers, Ic3b3rg retorted: “No Jokerz here. They’re all on Vector.” I love our community.

Yea Walrus that was a lot of fun, I hope we entertained the people watching SMILEY

Sound like it went really well, good to hear!

blinding light in my eyes until it turned to point the spinning logo on the
front wall. I still have “Konami” burned into my retina as I write this a
week later.

Haha, feel the power of Metal Gear!!

In any case, excellent write-up. I enjoyed reading it.

That would be because of me. I attended E3 and actually met up with Brewko and Walrus. (It's Mave BTW. Remember the guy with the Homer Simpson Hat Walrus?) Interesting time speaking to them about how the game has been doing and what not. Actually met a few MxO players as well. I took pictures of the E3 event, including one with Walrus which I won't post for obvious reasons. E3 was really awesome.

P.S: Walrus, don't forget about my crusade for Boxer Shorts :smileyvery-happy:

#10300003131 05/18/2006 14:38:39 Re: The Matrix Online E3 Report - Discussion Thread - May 18, 2006

Let's see if I can address everything so far:

DevilsArms - Other Side: Yeah, I know I've been slacking on that. Things have been really busy. I plan on doing one this week so I can talk about the patch coming next week. 'tis a big one.

jeffers - Euro Ads: That's actually not up to Massive. I'd like to get real ads into the game for our non-NA players, but don't have much control over it. On the other hand, we did talk about options such as player-made ads and giving them copies of the original ads to host.

QforQ - Dragon9 Conversation: His Faction (Trinity) is on Vector and they have some issues with CR2.0, along with a desire for more events and questions about what's in store for the game. Mostly, though, it was a discussion about CR2.0.

QforQ - Free Trial: So far, the free trial has been really good for us. Latecomers still have some time left, so we'll see how many stick. At the very least, we certainly gave MxO a lot more visibility.

RemagDiv - Booth Pics: I don't have any myself. I'll see who else on the team has any and will post them when I can.

mitez - PS3 or Wii: Two words: Long lines. I considered going and seeing them, but PS3 wasn't a hands-on and the Wii line was wicked long. I didn't have that much time, so decided to do more browsing than in-depth investigation.

RockyB - # of Boxes: I believe we had something like 200 boxes on hand.

QforQ - Other People @ E3: If you're talking about demoing, then Dan = Brewko. So you've already met him. If you're talking about other people on the CRM team, all you have to do is visit other forums to meet them--they're all on other SOE games.

Aquilae - Paris Hilton: I didn't say I was fighting the crowd to see Paris. I was just trying to get out the freaking door! lol

eroz - Seasonal Depression: No, actually I like Seattle in the winter. After 5 years of Detroit winters and many more in Columbus, it's actually nice here. My comment was more related to a good time to visit Austin. Ever been to Texas in the summer? Yeesh!

SimpsonsNerd - Pics: Yep, nice to see you on the forums. SMILEY I'm actually surprised no photos of me have ever appeared on the forums (that I know of).

SimpsonsNerd - Boxers: You never give up, do you? SMILEY

#10300003132 05/18/2006 14:43:44 Re: The Matrix Online E3 Report - Discussion Thread - May 18, 2006
I'm determined to go to the next Fan Faire and meet everyone!  It'd be awesome to meet MxO players in person, I'd love to meet tons of people here SMILEY

Columbus isn't that cold..the weather is just weird. One day it's sunny and hot, the next it's snowing.

Cheers Walrus.

Sounds like a good time was had by all.
Hopefully, I'll be able to score a pass to the next one...
So, if someone wants to take me along, I'd love to go.

Nice to get the word out that we are still around.

Cheers!

#10300003220 05/22/2006 00:24:42 Re: The Matrix Online E3 Report - Discussion Thread - May 18, 2006
Two rules to E3.

1. 18 and older.

2. Prove that you work for a business who works for the Gaming Industry and some way.

Or Mave's Method: Find someone who does work there, get a special pre-approved invite, attend with a business that is registered (I run a comp company) and BAM! Entry. Yes I know, I am teh pwn. I'll post my E3 pics up later. I even have one with Brewko... *dun dun duuuun*

Only reason is because of the PS3 and the Wii. PS3 is cool. The Wii on the other hand disappoints me.

Sorry but I want to play Video Games not look for Comedy Central on DirectTV. Nintendo....tsk tsk tsk....For shame...
