Bah teasing with the Test server launcher!  Can't wait till QA comes back. Is there a tentative date to when it might be complete?

looks good,
when will you know if you can take on a few more LESIG?
there's been some good players come in after that as well as some that didn't apply way back when (aka meSMILEY)
that would really give good feedback and work well in this group.

There's been alot of people leave too that probably put in applications...

when oh when!!!

lol

#10300001529 12/02/2005 18:36:49 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005

It's looking great and I can't wait for the test server to come up!! Is there any room in the LESIG for one more member? back when It was first annoucned I was planning on quiting, but with the new stuff going on I really want to join. So Walrus, PLEASE?!

Thanks a lot,

4rk  :manvery-happy:

#10300001530 12/02/2005 18:56:08 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
Thanks for the update, Walrus! It sounds like things are moving in the
right direction. LESIG... CR2.0... additional articles from you.
I
can't wait to jump onto the QA server and check out the combat
revision! (And I hope my LESIG application was still valid even though
I took a little break.)

#10300001531 12/02/2005 19:01:41 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005

Keep the info coming! We love it.    I am dying to see the CR2 on test server. I am really waiting for my invite to the LESIG (That second email with all the questions was a bugger, but fun!) *Slips Walrus a $100 bill*

#10300001532 12/02/2005 19:23:12 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
AHHHHH... T_T

Captain's Log... December 2nd, we have receieved word that the Test
server is undergoing the final steps to completion, but the data we
have received is incomplete at best..

P.S. - *slips Walrus lifetime subscription to oyster world*   this
is just between us for the LESIG... if you know what i mean =P

On a more Normal note... I am so looking forward to this.  IMHO
the combat system is already one of the best among MMORPG's and I just
have a feeling 2.0 will make it even greater.  Is there a chance
we could possibly get something like a small clip or screenshot of hte
new animations/abilities?

#10300001533 12/02/2005 19:26:41 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
Thats just so evil....only posting a shot of the launcher...SMILEY

God I can't wait to mess around and try to break the new stuff SMILEY
#10300001534 12/02/2005 19:34:28 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
What is LESIG?
#10300001535 12/02/2005 19:41:18 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
It's the Live Events Special Interest Group, they said it was going to be a group of people that will help in LEs but honestly we don't have a clue....I guess we will have to wait SMILEYSMILEY
#10300001536 12/02/2005 19:54:06 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005

#10300001537 12/02/2005 20:10:52 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
Well, I'm not seeing any new forums... But my handle has changed since the 'Lith boards, so I've still got my fingers crossed...

#10300001539 12/02/2005 21:34:13 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
Can anyone explain the process of setting MxO up for the QA
server?  Man, I hope I'm on the LESIG..so ready to brainstorm new
ideas.

#10300001540 12/02/2005 21:44:15 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
I wish sign-ups would be open for the players that were around since the Monolith days. It was impossible for me to find the sign-up topic.
#10300001541 12/02/2005 22:09:44 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
I think that it's an excellent idea to split out the community overview
with the development updates. Some work of the community really deserve
public exposure, and I think a regular featured article with some of
the best ones will give those efforts a better recognition than being
stuffed at the end of an article about totally different things. Since
Walrus can't read all the threads in all the forums, I would also
suggest a way so the community can suggest. I think that the LESIG
could also be in charge of monitoring the forums for finding the gems
in them, giving a better overview of the situation.

Oh and speaking of the LESIG, I also cross fingers that my name is on
that list... I've been waiting since what, may-june, and I still hope
to have a chance being in that group!

#10300001542 12/02/2005 22:29:10 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
Me too, I didn't hear anything when they first contacted people, but
then the project got on hold until now, so I'm hoping I'll get invited!
:smileyhappy:

#10300001543 12/02/2005 23:33:39 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
I'm sure that when the test server is active they will publish detailed
instructions on installing it, but basically it will be a seperate
install of mxo.

Looking forward to LESIG Walrus and all the improvements to come! SMILEY

#10300001544 12/02/2005 23:42:59 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
I need to stop looking at that screenshot of the QA launcher.  It gets me all excited.

Excellent update Walrus, even if it has left me nearly drooling for more.

I am excited to see that the LESIG is moving forward, and, like Bonopi,
I do hope there will be space for additional volounteers, as I am
hopeful to be a part of it, especially as you said it would help us
European players, or continental players, in some way (people like
myself)

Aside from that, very good news there Walrus. My congratulations to the
sig comp winners, and my congratulations to the dude with the new baby :smileyhappy:

Apart from lesig i have to say im actually quite dissapointed in this weeks looking glass, hardly any solid info and not addressing any of the big questions floating around on the boards, nothing about email enhancments, nothing about trading in our old hideout drops, nothing on awr...
#10300001549 12/03/2005 03:47:33 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
yeah we wait 2 weeks to get this, then you say youl be doing stuff you said back then youd do in this looking glass.

#10300001551 12/03/2005 05:55:12 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005

yeah most of us have different logins now from when monolith ran it. anyway....you can certainly use some input from roleplayers from Vector-Hostile. The LETs/Devs should known for sure how hard it is to interact with players there because they have to play the role of Matrix Characters as well as kindergarden cops.

So consider the interest of the players on Vector that are interested in the LESIG to help moderate some quality Live Events interaction in such a hostile enviroment.

#10300001552 12/03/2005 07:51:35 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
I can't wait for the QA. I will be on there as much as I can be, practice and school permitting. A big "BAH!" to homework. SMILEY

When will others who didn't apply the first time get the chance to
apply again for the LESIG? I know I'm not that active on the forums,
but it'd be a lot of fun to be apart of something like that.

Thanks for the great teaser Walrus... I'm going to go enjoy the game now. SMILEY

Likewise,
I had all kinds of difficulty signing up for LESIG when it was making its first round, and I was never able to get my app. Would also like a solid attemp at joining.

00Zero, our QA characters can be exact copies of our other realm characters. This means the QA will have all the items our live realm RSIs havee SMILEY
#10300001555 12/03/2005 10:23:17 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
i'd love to be a part of LESIG if theres still spots walrus
#10300001556 12/03/2005 12:14:41 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
Having started playing MxO in the middle of the Monolith - SOE changeover, I too missed my chance to apply for LESIG. If you can excuse my relative inexperience in the game, I think I would also make a valuable addition to the LESIG team.

I live for Live Events and have many ideas on ways to tweak the system to make this game a truly unique MMO experience.

With all of these worthy candidates whose applications you have not seen, Walrus, please consider making a few additions. Maybe a new sign up period?

Good "Looking Glass", but a HUGE tease.

#10300001557 12/03/2005 12:23:35 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
Interesting artical.

Hope everythings not to stressfull for you Walrus, although I'm sure your coping fine. When does octopus arrive on the scene then? :p

Also nice to see that the LESIG will be forming at last. Hopefully something good will be achieved from it. One quick question though, if you haven't been accepted into the LESIG, how will you know rather then just sitting and waiting to see if you get forums?

Congrats to all the winners of the sig contests.

Last thing nice to see that more information will (hopefully) be arriving with two articals instead of one. That launcher picture is a tease, but I suppose if you look at it as only 2 updates away then it's not overly bad. :p

I think mine is fairly obvious.

Patiently waiting for my LESIG invite *gnashes teeth*

Also rather excited to jump onto the test server and see CR2.0, not to mention the new dev journal next week.

All in all, it's exciting times in the near future for the MegaCity.

#10300001559 12/03/2005 15:51:04 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
I am so crushed I missed out on the LESIG... Seriously... This is not cool... I try to help the community through RP, and I just found out I could have actually had a hand in the story/events... I am absolutely crushed...

I hope they bring back applications, I would really like to formally apply

I fear that I may have missed out on applying for LESIG, which is somewhat disheartening.

Not to worry, I still hold the Matrix Online as the best game on my
harddrive. Combat 2.0--Man, what a ride it's been, and now this
inspiring news. Until then...

Be seeing you.

#10300001562 12/04/2005 04:25:21 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
Can you still sign up for LESIG?

No,
but Walrus said that once the LESIG is started, soon after a new set of
invites will be made to allow those who missed it to apply.

Oh and for those that were wondering where the LESIG comes from, I did
a post on the Redpill recue forum in the "LESIG" thread. This is based
on how Aether presented the LESIG half a year sooner. Wow, that's a
long time ago!
#10300001564 12/04/2005 13:45:55 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
Quick question about the Combat Revamp.  Is it supposed to be something like they're making this game more than 1/2 of a point and click adventure? I'm afraid the articles I've read don't really explain it enough.

Very Nice Walrus, as always your updates are
Very Welcome & give us all some sence that were not paying for
nothing with this Game. I finally get my beloved QT Test Server back & LESIG is coming back also :smileyvery-happy:

Just like
bonopi said,
I would also love to have a go @ LESIG...  I never heard anything
back the 1st time round so I'm hoping for it the 2nd time round!!
#10300001568 12/05/2005 03:55:27 Re: The Other Side of the Looking Glass - 12/02/2005
Thank you for the update, Walrus.

If the CR2.0 is headed the way I think it is, it'll be a pleasure to be there and shove it along the path.
